I made this! @hobos_swansea
The Owl and the Pussycat was done as part of my Illustration project for University during my second year. I’m currently studying in Aberystwyth doing a fine art degree. All of the Owl and the Pussycat images are done on mount board, and are A4 (297mm x 210mm).
Wow.

Source: chrisstringermusicHi!
So recently I won a competition to be one of the supper acts for the Gabby Young & Other Animals gig in Swansea next Saturday. I. Am. Excited.
If you haven’t heard of Gabby Young, she’s incredibly talented - go and watch videos of the band on YouTube.
Anyway, the gig is in The Garage in the Uplands, Swansea on Saturday 23rd March and tickets are £8.
See you there!
Source: chrisstringermusicHi all!
So, I’ve been thinking a lot lately.
And actually, a lot has been going on lately. I’ve been booked for a good couple of gigs, and I’ve been in contact with a couple of people from podcasts (!) and radio shows (!!) - so it seems that 2013 is going to be a fairly good year for me. Which…
I know, I’m sorry! I hated that the account linked with my other account wasn’t quite independent enough, with regards to following people.
So here is where I’m going to be posting news!

Recently I had a post on my facebook page claiming that it was ‘fake’, and that the poster was the ‘real’ Takodesign. I couldn’t believe it! Not that someone else had discovered the Japanese word for octopus, not that they’d used it as a name.. but that he felt the need to express his.. disagreement so bluntly and, in fact, so publicly. If I was posting his work and pretending to be him then I’d understand - but we are two very different artists and I find it impossible that someone looking for Takodesign the architect would find the page “Tako Design & Illustration” on facebook, see the pictures and think “Yeah, this is the right one.” Yeah, you read correctly - I said architect. Nothing like my work in any way, shape or form. What bothers me is that the way he chose to write his post quite simply offended me. He could have messaged me privately, or perhaps written a more gracious message. Instead he chose to call me a thief and a liar.
I’ve been thinking over the last couple of days on how to react - do I apologise, explain my feelings regarding the message, or just tell him outright to kindly fuck off? Well, I kind of did all of them.
